Travis Lucas

A former trial court judge and frequently retained legal counsel, Travis Lucas has built a recognized practice assisting clients on a wide array of legal matters over the past twenty years.

Recently, the publishing company Bloomberg Government identified Travis in their Honorable Mention rankings as being in the top one percent of all boutique professionals in Washington, DC that had the highest year-to-year growth with the longest retention of clients over a multi-year period.

Travis served as a presiding trial court judge and magistrate where he disposed of over 50,000 contested cases and presided over hundreds of jury trials and contested dockets.

Before taking his judicial post, he litigated cases in federal trial and appellate courts as an assistant attorney general, and before that, was a criminal prosecutor. While in those advocacy positions, he never lost a jury trial.

He has served as an appointed special assistant to the highest-ranking official in an agency where Travis was in charge of the entire agency portfolio of special projects; briefly served in the congressional relations arm of a federal agency where he was a liaison between the agency and the U.S. Congress; and served as a chief of staff and legal counsel to a prominent Member of Congress.
